How limited edition can a production carbon jump bike get? YT is going ultra-limited for the slopestyle Play Heritage with just 25 bikes, exclusively available in Europe. The bike has been around for a while, but was only ever a team-only creation pulled out to land sick jumps & tricks. Now the light & agile bike can be yours if you act quickly…

YT Play Heritage, carbon full-suspension slopestyle bike

YT says that every time they pulled the carbon Play out for a slopestyle competition they drew a crowd. Besides watching it lay down big tricks on the dirt jumps, fans just wanted a shot to buy one. Built to be agile enough for any types of flipping & spinning you can dish out, the carbon Play had to be built to suffer the abuse of repeated hard landings, and hopefully only the occasional big crash. YT decided that to coincide with their 10 year anniversary it was time to make the bike available to whoever wanted one – as long as there aren’t more than 25 riders who want one.

Tech Details

YT says the 100mm travel carbon full-suspension bike is as light as a dirt-jumping alloy hardtail, so it’s just as easy to toss into the air, but now much more forgiving on the flat landings. And still built for the same abuse. Designed for proper slopestyle racing the frames gets a singlespeed friendly main pivot with angular roller bearings concentric around the bottom bracket, plus chain tensioners built into the dropouts/fork ends.

The heritage edition Play carbon gets a mostly raw carbon look, topped by digital camo details. YT ships the bike with only the rear brake mounted for proper slopestyle racing, but they do include the front brake setup too, so you can actually ride it on trails or elsewhere.

The Play comes in just one size which equates to something like a Small based on its geometry. Only one build is available too, but £2700/3000€ build a pretty light bike as you would hope with its singlespeed setup. Claimed weight for the complete bike is 10.7kg, with 2.5kg for the frame. Curiously (since everyone who will ride this bike rides platforms) the Play still doesn’t seem to include pedals.

Pretty expensive but I think it’s worth the price. Want to have this soon.
