Maxxis is filling in the mid “Plus” size range for 29ers with their new Minion DHF, DHR II and Rekon tires in 29×2.6 sizes. They’re also filling in the gap between full DH-worthy casings and their trail-worthy EXO casing with a new EXO+. That casing sits halfway between EXO and DD (DoubleDown) casings, adding their Silk Shield puncture protection bead to bead while keeping the EXO sidewall cut protection in place. It’ll come on 2.5 to 2.8 widths for the Minions and Rekon for now, likely on other models in the future.

The new 2.6 widths give the Minions a massive array of size options…

For road shredders, they’ve developed a new HYPR compound that uses a full silica formula to improve both grip and rolling resistance.

Initially it will only be available on the High Road, which is not tubeless ready. It’s clincher only for now, but they told us we can expect more changes to come to the road side soon.

those Minions have been on the market for some time now in 27.5. Got excited thinking they were doing 29×2.6

Is that not exactly what this article is about? I see 29×2.6 in multiple places.
