Looking to make riding a little more… enjoyable, Funn was showing an updated version of their UpDown Dropper post. We first saw this back in April, but it’s shipping soon so Funn was making sure everyone saw it again at Eurobike.
Essentially, the new UpDown uses their RCR or Rapid Cartridge Reset technology which started with a sealed cartridge. The inside of the cartridge features a twin tube design that essentially bleeds the hydraulic fluid every time you use the post. That should prevent any air from being pulled in through the seals as sometimes happens with IFP seat posts, and will ensure the post works flawlessly throughout the life of the cartridge. And when the cartridge finally gives up the ghost? Then it’s an easy swap of an inexpensive replacement part.
The droppers will be available in 30.9 and 31.6mm diameters and in 125mm and 150mm travel versions of the internally routed post.
Then there’s the new 4-way adjustable remote which can be mounted as a lower left/upper right lever, or upper left/lower right depending on your preference. While the cable head is positioned at the base of the post, the lever works with either end of the cable so it can be used with other droppers as well. Pricing is set at $279 for the post and the remote and they’re shipping any day now.
The Funn Full On handlebars have been updated as well with a new triple butted 6061 aluminum profile. Available in 31.8mm diameter and 785mm or 810mm lengths, the bars are available now for $49 each.
To keep those bars in place, the new Crossfire stem is specifically designed with the lowest stack height and widest bar clamp. That could be important if you’ve cut your steerer a bit short, or just want a low stack height for that slammed look. The wide clamp should keep the steering nice and precise, and the stems will be available in both 31.8mm and 35mm clamp diameters with 35 or 50mm lengths for $67.
Expanding their Fantom line, the new wheelsets will be sold as wide 27.5″ or 29″ trail/enduro hoops. The rims measure 35mm internal, have 32 spokes, and feature a tubeless ready design with a welded seam. Fantom hubs will also be offered separately, and feature easily swappable end caps without tools, and are available in Boost or standard thru axles for now.
Finally, because no one is safe from e-bikes, Funn has a few direct mount chainrings for the Shimano E8000 system.
To showcase all the new parts, Funn loaded up this Pipedream Moxie titanium, which was just spotted for the first time at the Tweedlove Bike Festival.
