We’ve seen a lot of super bikes, aero wheels, and power meters this week, but the march of triathlon specific components continues with Fizik’s latest line of shoes and saddles. Called the Transiro range, the products were developed in conjunction with the BMC-Vifit Pro Triathlon team which includes four-time Ironman Champion Michelle Vesterby.

Joining the ranks of the snub-nosed triathlon saddles, the Mistica Carbon is shaped to provide the most benefit when in an aerodynamic position.

The UCI compliant shape is 241mm long with a 55mm wide nose. The Mistica includes a new channel design for better weight distribution and the frictionless nose design with a carbon reinforced nylon shell and braided 7x9mm carbon rails. Weight is claimed at 205g for the regular.

The saddle also features a Microtex cover for grip, and includes a carriage kit out back for mounting bottle or tool holders, and a transition hook up front. Offered in regular or large sizes, the widths measure 135mm or 141mm.

To go along with the new saddles, the Transiro Infinito R1 Knit is a new tri specific shoe with a breathable knit upper. The yarn itself features a water repellent treatment so that it doesn’t absorb moisture after the transition, which allows them to quickly dry.

The shoes are designed for easy entry with a generous pull tab at the back, and a dual Boa set up that allows for a wide entry. Like many tri shoes, the Transiros have been designed to be comfortable without socks, and the shoes feature their Infinito volume adjust, dynamic arch support, and an R1 full UD carbon outsole.

With a claimed weight of 503g for a pair of size 42s, the shoes are available in 37-48 in full and half sizes, and are priced at $450.

Love how they still claim these are “breathable”. Personal experience and pretty much every other review out there confirms they are twice as hot as a normal Infinito. And heavier too.

FunkyB, look at the enlarged photo of the bottom of the sole. I use a pair of Garneau Course Air Lite and they are nowhere as well thought out as the vents in these…just saying!

Be interesting to see how much glue is blocked in those ‘vents’ from the assembly process.

Nice looking. With double Boa don’t see why u couldn’t wear them on the road.
