Perhaps better known to North Americans as a premium outdoor clothing and gear brand, Amsterdam’s Agu has some impressively featured and well styled pannier bags that are totally waterproof. Using a roll top design and waterproof 600D polyester with a PVC and PU coating, the bags promise to keep their contents 100% dry.
The body is made of recycled material and gets a modern camo print. On the back are KLICKfix attachment hooks to clip on any standard pannier rack with 6-16mm diameter rails. Once off the bike, they have a carry handle and detachable shoulder strap.
The bags will fit a standard laptop, though you’ll probably want to put it in a padded case. They come in other prints and designs, too, all with reflective details. Dimensions are 35L x 29W x 39H (cm) for a total volume of 26L. Perhaps the best part? Retail is just €54.99.
Agu also makes cycling apparel, which we just took on a three hour ride and found to be very comfortable, even without chamois cream and possibly sized a bit too small. That said, their sizing on bibshorts and jerseys seem to run a little large. I typically wear an XL in anything tight, but grabbed a medium sales sample from the Taipei Cycle Show for a ride through the hills of central Taiwan and it worked great. That said, I’d probably opt for a Large if I had the option.
