The Robert Axle Project is all about creating high quality replacement axles for all types of bikes. While the brand started with rear axle replacements to allow for the use of trailers and accessories, they have quickly expanded the line to include light weight replacement axles for the front of the bike as well. With almost a full line of Focus compatible R.A.T. axles already available, there was one last axle to add to the mix – a 15mm R.A.T. replacement for the front.

The Lightning Bolt-On Axle is pretty simple, but in its simplicity lies the beauty. The axle gets rid of the bulky handle on the stock bike and replaces it with a 6mm bolt on version that is also compatible with Hexlox security systems.

Weighing in at 56g and manufactured from 7075 aluminum, the axle is compatible with Focus R.A.T. thru axle systems with a 15 x 100mm front hub. Each axle sells for $52 and they’re available now.

These are great, my Bombtrack had quick release through axles that sucked (deleted) and these were a good replacement. Also Why the hell would anybody need quick release on a plus size tubeless tyre when punctures are virtually non existence. Keep quick release off MTBs and leave it to the peloton. Might as well have quick release pegs on my BMX makes as much sense.
