The all-new carbon Canyon Strive enduro mountain bike just got upgraded to 29″ wheels, with a new Shapeshifter made by Fox to improve its durability. Carrying over the on-the-fly adjustable travel & geometry, this latest 29er enduro bike is more capable than ever, and now more attainable with a lower cost of entry. 2019 Canyon Strive, updated Shapeshifter enduro bike
The new 29er Strive is set to be raced this coming season by the Canyon Factory Racing Team in the Enduro World Series. Tested late last year as they took the EWS overall team title, the bike can pedal up just as well as it can shred down anything you might find on the toughest mountain bike trails. The heart of the new bike is truly the bigger 29″ wheels and the completely revamped Shapeshifter developed with suspension experts at Fox, giving 150mm or 135mm or trail-eating rear wheel travel.
But the other big news is a broader spec and two carbon frame layups that make a complete bike now cheaper than a frame on its own was in the old Strive…
New 2019 Canyon Strive spec, pricing & global availability
Globally six complete bike models will be offered (with just three making their way to the US), two with the top-tier CFR carbon frameset & the other four with the standard CF carbon frame. The premium Strive CFR 9.0 frame will also be available on its own for $3000 / 3000€.

That top-end CFR carbon frameset will come spec’ed in two complete bikes, pairing the 150mm of rear wheel travel with 170mm travel forks.
The flagship Strive CFR 9.0 Ltd sells for 7000€ with Fox Kashima-coated Factory air suspension, a SRAM XX1 Eagle 1×12 drivetrain & carbon ENVE wheels for a complete bike weight of 14kg/30.9lb, but won’t make it to the US.
The slightly more affordable Strive CFR 9.0 Team edition sells for $6000 / 5500€ and includes a RockShox suspension package, X01 Eagle drivetrain & Deemax Pro wheels more like the team will race for the EWS, but almost the same weight at 14.05kg/31lb.
2019 Canyon Strive CF complete bikes
The lower spec, but still full-carbon CF frames add four more complete bikes, pairing 150mm of rear wheel travel with slightly shorter 160mm travel forks. All of the bikes still come spec’ed with dropper seatposts controlled by the new multi-function Shapeshifter remote.
Complete bikes with the standard CF frame top out at $5300 /4500€ for the Strive CF 8.0 Fox Performance Elite suspension, X01 Eagle & carbon Reynolds TR 309 wheels at a claimed weight of 14.25kg/31.4lb.
Not available in the US, the next 4000€ Strive CF 7.0 gets the same Fox Performance Elite suspension, but swaps in a Shimano XT 1×11 drivetrain & XT brakes, plus an alloy DT Swiss wheels for a weight of 14.7kg/32.4lb.
The $4000 /3400€ Strive CF 6.0 picks RockShox suspension and a GX Eagle groupset with Guide R brakes & alloy DT wheels for a weight of 14.9kg/32.8lb.
Again available pretty much everywhere EXCEPT the US, the 3000€ carbon Strive CF 5.0 is the same price as the last generation frame-only, with a build of SRAM NX Eagle, Fox suspension & Sun Ringle wheels with a final weight of 15.45kg/34.1lb.
All of the new 29er Strives go on sale today, with varied availability based on size, spec & frame color. Some bikes at all pricing levels are in stock and shipping now, while the bulk of all options are expected to ship between now and the first week of February.
