$10,000 mountain bikes may get more than their fair share of press, but for every bike that costs as much as a (used) car, there are more out there for a lot less. Fezzari has built a lot of their business on this, but more than ever with the new Wasatch Peak. Already an affordable hardtail, the new design adds even more performance and more options at impressive pricing.
Starting with an all new custom shaped 6061 aluminum frame, the Wasatch Peak offers revised geometry similar to the new Signal Peak. That includes details like a 68° head angle, steep 75° seat tube angle, and moderate 435mm chainstays. Built with enough clearance to run 27.5 x 2.8″ tires, you’ll have the option of both 29″ and 27.5+ builds for the Comp model.
Cable routing in internal, with bolt-on cable guides and provisions for an internally routed dropper seat post. You’ll also find a threaded bottom bracket, Boost 148mm rear spaced thru axle, and post mount disc brakes with forged dropouts.
At the top end, the Wasatch Peak Elite comes with 29″ wheels and a RockShox Sektor RL 120mm travel fork. The build features higher end components like a SRAM NX Eagle 1×12 drivetrain, SRAM Level hydraulic brakes, and tubeless Stan’s Arch S1 wheels and Maxxis Ardent Race 29 x 2.2″ tires for $1,599.
The Comp model comes in both 29″ and 27.5+ and manages to drop the price to just $999 with a 1×10 drivetrain and SR Suntour XCR 34 Air fork with 120mm of travel. You’ll also find hydraulic brakes and tubeless ready wheels and tires, though a step down from the Elite.
