The Attaquer ALL DAY line got a complete refresh in May, and this is the second iteration I’ve tested. The first remains in my rotation, and this latest edit is an excellent refinement worthy of the “all day” label.
The TL;DR is this: If you’re tall and you like form-fitting, very comfortable kits with all the right features and nothing unnecessary, buy this. The colors are very nice, too. The long version, with convincing photos, is as follows…
Design Highlights
Beyond just being a very comfortable kit, my favorite thing about Attaquer’s ALL DAY line is that the legs and sleeves are long. I’m 6’2″ with average appendage lengths, and I love that the leg opening sit just above my knees. I also love that the arms cover my entire biceps.
And they stay that way throughout the ride. Some jerseys I have end up with the arms riding up throughout the day, but not these, and they do it solely through good compression from the stretch mesh, which is very breathable.
The legs get a much wider compression band with a small strip of grippy dots at the bottom. None of it is overly tight, so I didn’t look like a sausage, but they work. Everything stays put even if you’re dancing on the pedals…like you’ve got… ants. In your pants.
Couldn’t resist. But seriously. I love it. If you’re tall, stop reading here, buy here, and enjoy your ride.
They also have deep cargo pockets on both legs, which is all but a requirement for me on any ride longer than 90 minutes. These are big enough for an iPhone, a few Clif Bars, and almost anything else you’d want to shove there. Even an action camera.
The bib’s material is Italian, mostly Oeko-Tex certified recycled, with a “proprietary Italian two-piece multi-zone chamois with re-engineered surface fabric” that’s very comfortable. As hot as it’s been this summer, I’ve soaked it in sweat, and it seems to move that moisture out quickly – no problems with swamp butt or chafing at all.
The front of the straps are wide and ultra-soft, so no chafing on the nips, either. The back strap is wider than most, which isn’t as hot as I thought it would be, and it does feel very supportive and keeps the rest of the bibs from shifting around.
The body of the jersey is a bit short compared to the arms, but it lands at just the right spot. I’m exaggerating the reach into the pockets a bit here, but they do sit higher and require a bit more of an elbow-and-shoulder hike to get into them. That said, there are five of them, with two smaller ones on the sides for gels, etc. Reinforced stitch points keep things together even with the open mesh.
The zipper is easy to open and close with one hand, while riding. I do wish there was a tiny zipper garage at the top, as there were a few times when I could feel the top of it poking my neck, but mostly only when standing around… it’s a low collar and this was never an issue while riding.
All the mesh and “seersucker” sleeve/shoulder fabric keep it breezy, and lightweight. Claimed weight is just 128g, and it feels like nothing on.
The colors for this season are muted, plus black (because, of course). I’d probably avoid the eggshell-on-eggshell combo, suggesting that you mix and match some colors from top to bottom, but you do you.
These aren’t cheap – $320 for the bibshorts, and $195 for jerseys. But I still recommend them. My original ALL DAY kit shows no signs of wear even after a few years of use, and I wear it a lot. So, they last, and a truly comfortable all day kit that disappears while riding is kinda priceless.
