Getting sick of fake news? Well here’s some Truth for all you BMX racers and street cruisers! Maryland’s Truth BMX Products has once again expanded their line of Main Event racing frames with a new chromoly version, and they’re adding more big-wheeled BMXs to their street collection as well.

If you’re into sessionable yet fast-rolling city cruisers, Truth BMX already offers the 26” Silver Spring. However, the bigger news is that they’re now working on the Capitol frame and Chesapeake Bay fork, which will run 29” wheels!

Chromoly Main Event:

For their Main Event race bikes Truth BMX drafted up one design they seem quite happy with, and they’ve been running through the gamut of different materials to make it from. Bikerumor has previously checked out the titanium, carbon and aluminum versions of the Main Event frame, and Truth now has their chromoly version ready for purchase.

The latest Main Event frame is handcrafted from triple-butted 4130 chromoly, with CNC machined head tubes, bottom brackets and dropouts. The head tubes accept integrated headsets, the BB is a euro-type, and the dropouts come with 20mm or 10mm axle adapters. The frames include three welded cable guides to prevent your cable from rattling, and the whole frame is then heat-treated for maximum strength.  As for the frame weight, a 20” Pro XL model hits the scale at 4lbs 2 oz.

Truth’s ‘Race Proven’ geometry gives the 20” frames 74.5° head tubes, 70° seat tubes, and a seat mast that accepts 27.2mm posts. The 24” cruisers have slacker 73.5° head tubes, but the same seat tube angle and seat post size. Most other measurements change according to the frame size, so for those details check out the complete geo chart on Truth BMX’s website. MSRP for the chromoly Main Event is $409.95, and they are available now in Black or White.

26” Silver Spring:

While Truth BMX’s owners have a long history in racing, the company offers several frames for freestyle riders as well. In fact, they have street frames for every possible wheel size, including 18” for the groms and 22” wheels for those toying with the newer, bigger hoops. Recently, they’ve gone bigger with their wheels and created a 26” street frame called the Silver Spring.

The 26” Silver Spring is made from 4130 chromoly, with butted and gusseted down and top tubes. Like the race bikes they feature machined head tubes, BB shells and dropouts. The street frames also accept integrated headsets, and add gyro tabs to the head tube. The rear dropouts are 6mm thick with 14mm axle slots, the BB is a mid-type, and the frame includes an integrated seat clamp. Removable U-brake mounts are located under the seatstays, and the frame can accommodate up to 2.4” wide tires.

The 26” Street frame has a 22.75” top tube and 17.75” chainstays. The head tube angle is 74.9°, the seat mast sits at 71°, and the standover height on this big wheeled BMX is 14.75”. The frame weighs in at 7lbs, and is available now for $329.95.

If you want to have the biggest and baddest street cruiser on the block, Truth’s upcoming Capitol 29er is about to roll out on the largest wheels available! The Capitol frame utilizes the same construction and features as the Silver Spring 26”, but has its own geometry to accommodate those huge hoops. The Capitol’s head tube and seat mast angles are both 71°. The top tube measures 23.83”, chainstays are 18.11”, and the standover height is 17.90”. This frame can accept up to 2.45” wide tires.

Truth also went ahead and created a full-chromoly 29” fork for this bike, called the Chesapeake Bay. The Capitol frame and Chesapeake Bay fork will sell for $429.95, in either Black or Raw colors. Availability is set for spring 2019.

Chris at Off Road Peddler in Houston Texas have been doing this for quite some time, nothing new… everything they build is done in house or so heavily customized that the bike will leave completely unrecognizable…. in a good way though! They make bikes for NBA all-stars, music industry people alike, oh yeah and legit racers and riders. No marketing required!! #hypeaintclout
