In the works for quite some time, White Industries has announced their expansion into house-made rims. Combine those with their excellent hubs and they’re now able to offer complete wheels using made-in-the-USA parts. They’re starting with a single model, the White Industries G25A, aimed at gravel bikes, but there are plans for more. Here’s the details…

White Industries G25A alloy rims are made in America

The G25A is named after the specs: Gravel 25mm wide internal alloy rim. Clever, no? External width is 29mm, and rim height is 20mm. It’s rolled with an asymmetric profile, putting the spoke holes 3.75mm off center so the wheels can be built with even spoke tension.

There’s a tire bead shelf on both sides, you just can’t tell with this tubeless tape install…we’ll get photos of a bare rim soon.

They’re tubeless ready with a hookless bead, disc-brake only, and designed for tires ranging from 40mm to 57mm wide. So, gravel. But, they say they’re ready for light-duty XC, drop-bar all road bikes, monstercross builds and other similar ideas.

    • velocity a23 is rim brake only and too narrow for this day gravel trends.

astral wheel make a nice one asymmetrical rim but it is sleeve.
i think white industries is very clever to make asymmetrical rim with welded seam to take the market.

  1. “Final production processes and plans are still being worked out, but the design is basically finalized“ But they already have a price tag … interesting.

      • If we’re going ENVE style, their 30mm tubeless tape that comes with their 19mm internal hoops…then this 25mm hoop needs either 36mm wide or 40mm wide…depending on if ENVE’s guidelines mean that we need tape that’s 11mm wider than the rim, or if it’s supposed to be 1.5x wider than the rim.
