Limar helmets drops into aggressive trail riding with a new Delta half-shell enduro helmet and Roc trail goggles. We mostly know Italian Limar for slippery aero road & into ultralight XC helmets, they’ve leveraged their protection experience to launch a solid looking combo for more technical mountain biking as well.
Limar Delta enduro mountain bike helmet
Limar asked what do riders look for in an enduro helmet, then followed up with a lightweight, well-ventilate helmet offering solid protection with deep temple and back of head coverage. The Delta is a pretty much what you get when you take lightweight protection and extend it deeper and further around your head.
Limar wanted to keep the Delta open, so it gets 17 vents with two deep internal flow channels. But safety was really key, so they used a multi-layered system of polycarbonate shells over conventional in-mold EPS protection to create a helmet that can withstand proper trail abuse. The result is that the Delta gets CE, CPSC & AS certified, plus even NTA 8776 e-bike certification.
A modern trail helmet needs protection from both sun & low-hanging branches too, so the Delta gets an adjustable 3-position peak that also moves out of the way to stash your goggles. Easy goggle integration is important, especially with the new Roc lenses below, so beyond the visor/peak, the Delta has a simple recess that fits a google strap in place.
The Delta features Limar’s AirFit dial retention – horizontally & vertically adjustable – integrated with light webbing straps & removable, washable liner pads. It comes in five colors and two sizes M & L (53-61cm), then each in two fits – standard & asian. Claimed weight for the new enduro helmet is just 310g (size M).
Limar Roc gravity mountain bike goggles
Limar’s new Roc goggle was developed for gravity riding with an enduro & DH focus. Designed together with the Delta half-shell helmet, the Roc goggles pairs seamlessly offering a wide filed of vision and continuous protection from the removable nose bridge guard, up and back over the head.
The Roc goggle gets a wide flexible composite frame that extends out from the lens with outriggers meant to smoothly transition to the protection of the Delta helmet. The result is an extra wide look, but one which does promise added protection.
The goggles get a wide mirrored, anti-fog polycarbonate lens for total UV protection, with pinned-in-place retention that keeps the lens securely in-place, but allows easy replacement. A clear lens & separate tear-offs are also available for gravity racing the worst conditions.
The Roc goggles in four frame colors feature foam-covered air intakes to balance good ventilation, while protecting from dust & debris, and use two layers of foam to fit the goggles comfortably against the skin while managing sweat. A wide 4cm elastic strap with silicone grippers keeps the Roc in place.
Both the new Delta helmet & Roc goggles will be available from the start of June 2019, and will be sold on their own or as a combination kit.
