Italian component maker Miche built bikes starting in 1919 before moving into components soon after, making this year their 100th anniversary. To celebrate they are doing what they do best, cranking out more-and-more new components from their top road spec Supertype family (with those 680g, 600€ Supertype Carbon HSL cranks above) down to the newest addition Graff gravel bike family. From top to bottom they offer reasonably priced carbon & alloy alternatives for wheels, cranksets, chainrings & cassettes, with this year’s focus landing on more road discs & gravel bike offerings.

Miche Graff means gravel for carbon wheels, alloy cranks & more

The Carbo Graff is the newest version, getting a 22mm internal asymmetric hookless, tubeless UD carbon rim with a medium 30mm depth for use with 35-45mm 700c tires. Built with straight pull spokes, sealed bearings, 12mm thru-axles, the machined 7075 alloy hubs are available with Campy, Shimano & XDR freehubs. Retail price for the carbon wheelset is 1570€ (including a tubeless setup kit) with a claimed weight of 1445g.

The alloy Graff already debuted a bit earlier this year at 380€ for the set with an asymmetric, hooked aluminum rim with a 19mm internal & 25mm deep. It features double butted J-bend spokes on large flange forged hubs, offers the same freehub compatibility, and a claimed weight of 1683g.

Still in the lineup from last year, Graff alloy gravel cranksets are available for 135€ in 1x or 2×11 configurations from 798g for an ultra-compact with a 24mm spindle, 733g w/ a 40T.

Supertype 550 T DX disc brake tubulars

Supertype is the top of the line racing family for Miche, and gets a new 2100€ set of mid depth 550 T DX disc brake carbon tubulars. At 1488g, the new road race tubulars can be set up for your latest Campy or SRAM AXS 12-speed, or Shimano 11-speed drivetrains with titanium freehub bodies. The 3K carbon centerlock disc wheels spin on machined out alloy hubs with premium SKF sealed steel bearings & 12mm thru-axles.

SWR RC 50 & RC 38 DX tubeless clinchers

Miche’s second-tier carbon road family is the SWR which now adds two mid depth blunt-nosed aero rims of 50 & 38mm deep. Both wheelsets sell for 1700€ with a 1640g weight for the RC 50 DX & 1536g for RC 38DX.

The new SWR RC wheels get a 19mm internal hooked tubeless-ready profile made of hi-mod 700 UD carbon. Hi-low flange alloy hubs are paired to a 2:1 mix of J-bend & straightpull bladed double-butted spokes for even spoke tension, and feature centerlock rotors.

There’s also a new SWR T 50 DX version that shares a similar carbon rim/alloy hub build with a new 50mm deep, 24mm wide tubular rim profile – the same as the Supertype 550 T DX with a lower spec carbon layup for a 1565g claimed weight. And another SWR Cross DX tubular version that uses a 38mm deep V-shaped profile, which for some reason is only 20mm wide at the rim bed. Plenty more new carbon & alloy wheels also debut for next year for entry-level road & premium MTB, so maybe we’ll need to look further into Miche for 2020.

Affordable alloy Attiva SRM powermeter

Attiva Power Meter

Calling any direct spider-measured SRM powermeter affordable is always a stretch, but Miche is trying to make it at least a bit more reasonable with their new Attiva. SRM built themselves as the power measuring benchmark for many years, but major competition showed riders that their high prices were not necessary. To stay relevant to the masses, they’ve partnered with Miche to create the alloy Attiva Power Meter for 1400€.

The Attiva uses forged alloy, then CNC machined arms available in 160, 165, 170, 17.25 & 175mm lengths, and a machined alloy SRM spider with Shimano 4-bolt chainrings. Power data is reliable to SRM standards of +/- 1% and is transmitted via ANT+. The Attiva has a lithium battery good for 100hrs of riding, and is rechargeable with a special magnetic USB cable. The powermeter uses a 24mm hardened steel axle to work in any frame with Miche’s bottom brackets, with a claimed crankset weight of 945g (w/o BB). Compatibility is officially 11-speed only, since Miche still does not produce 12-speed road chainrings.
