Fix Manufacturing who developed the compact Wheelie Wrench multi-tool that you can carry in a belt buckle or strapped to your pack adds a new Hans Rey Dynaplug edition of their most recent Wheelie Wrench Pro. They also have a new Adventure Terminal to have your tool at the ready when you finish you ride, and of course to crack open a brew with your riding buddies…
Fix Mfg Wheelie Wrench Pro Hans Rey Dynaplug edition
The Wheelie Wrench Pro was already a cool little tool for the amount of capabilities it squeezed into a tiny package. Now teaming up with mountain bike legend Hans Rey and tubeless tire trailside repair maker Dynaplug, is a new special edition of their more capable mini tool.
The Wheelie Wrench Pro Hans Rey Dynaplug edition simply adds a special Dynaplug plug inserter that threads into the base of Fix’s chain breaker. The result actually feels like an even more solid way to stab a tubeless plug into a damaged tire, rather than Dynaplug’s own small cylindrical tool.
The special edition combo tool kit will sell for $75 starting in January and includes a standard Wheelie Wrench Pro, plus a small co-branded neoprene carrying case, the threaded Dynaplug inserter & a pack of three plugs. (Refills will be directly available from Dynaplug.) The add ons won’t fit into Fix’s standard modular mounts, so you’ll have to toss the carrying case into a backpack or pocket.
Fix Mfg Wheelie Wrench Pro standard edition available again
Even though the Wheelie Wrench Pro debuted all the way back last summer, it’s actually been hard to get ahold of one because of high demand. The sold out almost immediately when they went on sale officially earlier in 2019.
Now Fix says they have the $50 tool in stock and expects to start shipping them out next week again. You can pre-order the Wheelie Wrench Pro now, along with a $35 All Out Belt or a $25 Strap On Tool Holster to carry it.
The tool includes: 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 8mm hexes, a T25, tire lever, slotted screwdriver,
8 & 10mm openend wrenches, rotor straightening slot, valve core & stem remover, chain breaker for 10-13sp chains, #0 & #2 spoke wrenches, and of course a bottle opener. It even comes with an 11-speed quick link held in place by magnets. And it splits in half & slides back together to get more leverage on the hexes (right above).
Fix Mfg Adventure Terminal fixed multi-tool base station
Beyond their on the go carry solutions, Fix will soon add the new fixed Adventure Terminal multi-tool base station that you bolt to the wall at home, in your home bike shop, or even on the back door of your adventure van… #vanlife!
The bolt-on Adventure Terminal offers a Payload Pocket – Fix’s standard place to store your Wheelie Wrench or Wheelie Wrench Pro. Plus, it gives you a spot to hang your keys and your backpack. And of course, it has a beer opener for post-ride refreshment, with a magnet to keep that bottle cap from falling on the ground. I tried it out. It works. And now I need one for the back door of my Transit mountain bike party van! Pricing isn’t yet set, but expect availability in early 2020.
