Here’s a chance to lighten up your bike and throw in some extra style. The Robert Axle Project has been turning out light weight replacement bolt-on thru axles from their Bend, Oregon headquarters for awhile now. But recently, they’ve teamed up with another Oregon legend in the bicycle world, Chris King Precision Components. Together, they’re offering a line of limited edition thru axles with CK flair.

According to The Robert Axle Project, they supplied Chris King with their axles and the axle finder for the website, and then Chris King has anodized them in matching colors to their own products.

Currently, Chris King is offering both Road/Gravel and MTB axles with 12 and 15mm versions in various fitments. If you’re not sure of what axle you need, the Fit Finder on the page will walk you through the steps, and then once you know the size you can pick a color. Each axle is priced at $60, and availability is limited.

    • They originally launched to provide BOB trailer-compatible axles for through-axle bikes, hence the name. I replaced the self destructing QR thru axles on my Trek 920 with their pieces. I can’t say the price seems reasonable, but the product is fantastic. Simple, light, strong, works great.
