This one goes out to anyone that has ever misplaced their bike lock key, or forgot the combination. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could simply unlock your bike lock like an iPhone? If your answer is yes, then check out the new BenjiLock by Hampton.
Introduced today at the Consumer Electronics Show, the BenjiLock will open with your fingerprint or a key – in case you don’t want to take off your gloves. The lock includes an IP-65 weather resistant housing to protect the electronic workings which are powered by a USB-rechargeable lithium-ion battery. A single charge is said to provide 6 months of power, and the lock can store up to 10 different fingerprints which would make family sharing convenient.
The lock itself is offered in 6″ and 8″ case-hardened steel shackles, each with a “cut-strength of 18,000 lbs and a drill-resistant cylinder.” The two locks will sell for $69 and $79 respectively.
The BenjiLock range also includes padlocks, TSA compliant Travel locks, and even cabinet locks all with biometric locks that can be unlocked with your fingertip.
