Black is always in style. But for those that want to add a bit more color to their bike, Britain’s bikepacking bag aficionados, Tailfin, have just released their first colorways. Tailfin has always had a design philosophy of “function first; color has to earn its place.” So, while it’s not a technical update, these new colorways, Kentucky Bluegrass and Candy Mountain, are significant for the brand.

And the cool news is that these new colors aren’t priced at a premium over the current black colorway.

Tailfin has never been about “fast fashion” or “limited run gimmicks”. Just solid, sturdy bags that “disappear” on the bike, without flashy colors not found in nature.

Meet the New Colorways

The two new colorways are Kentucky Bluegrass and Candy Mountain, which are available across a selection of Tailfin bags.

Candy Mountain

Candy Mountain is a warm, light sand-and-stone, two-tone colorway that brings a calming, earthy, and understated look to the range. It looks “quiet” on the bike, natural, organic, and at home on gravel roads and forest tracks alike.

Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky Bluegrass is a richer, more traditional color. It pairs khaki with olive colors as a nod to utility and adventure. It’s the kind of colourway that looks better and better the more miles it accumulates. Like a well-used waxed canvas bag starts to patina and looks better than when it was new.

What Bags?

Both colorways are available on the following Tailfin bags:

Both colorways are spread over a select number of Tailfin bags, and they don’t hold a premium price tag over the black bags. These new colors are not part of a limited release; they will become an integral part of the Tailfin line.
