Whatever you ride, Cosmo wants you to be connected. Originally, that meant using one of their connected Cosmo Ride helmet lights which features built in turn signals and a brake light along with a small remote for the handlebar. While the Ride can be connected to your seat post or a helmet, their newest connected cycling product is a complete smart helmet with a heads up display, built in brake lights, turn signals, and more.

Recently unveiled at CES, we get a glimpse of the helmet’s design through this 3D rendering on their website. Instead of slapping an oval light onto the back of the helmet, in this case the rear mounted LEDs are built into the helmet so they look like vents. The lights are said to have the same functionality with remote actuate turn signals, an automatic brake like, safety light, and flashers. In case of a crash, the helmet has a built in fall detection which will alert your contacts after 3 minutes if you don’t disable it after a crash. When linked to their smart phone app, the helmet includes real time tracking which can provide your location to your emergency contact so they know where to find you.

Up front, the integrated visor supposedly incorporates a HUD with turn signal status indicators, speedometer, odometer, clock, compass, directions, and interestingly – a vehicle detection sensor which will apparently warn you about closely approaching vehicles.

That display tech will also be available in a pair of smart glasses if you want to leave the helmet with an integrated visor for the road.

While pricing and availability isn’t yet available, Cosmo Connected plans to expand into the U.S. market through a partnership with Uber Eats. They have plans to equip their delivery riders in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, & Miami.

Cosmo is also working on visibility solutions for the motorcycle world with a similar light that mounts to the back of full face helmets. The new Cosmo Moto will feature built in turn signals and is meant to give riders increased visibility.
