Swiss Side announced a new disc brake option in their lineup – the 2020 Hadron Classic 800. It features a rim depth of 80mm, a max width of 28mm, and internal spoke nipples. DT Swiss hubs round out the package, using the 370 Classic model with j-bend spokes.

The Hadron Classic 800 isn’t new per se – but the disc brake option is. We covered the details of the full Hadron lineup, which includes multiple rim depth options for both rim and disc brakes. The ‘Ultimate’ versions upgrade to DT Swiss 240 hubs with SINC ceramic bearings.

The hubs come equipped with Centerlock compatibility, but 6-bolt rotors may be used with an adapter. Quoted weight for the Hadron Classic 800 is 1,865g per pair, with a current price of €1,400.

Ah… so this is why they created the Large Hadron Collider. Makes perfect sense now.

Should I be worried that my shallow Campy Zonda disc wheels have (just) 21 spokes?
