In normal times, this time of year has become the hot time to release new products. But with the Sea Otter Classic postponed, that has thrown a lot of brands for a loop. Originally, Eminent Cycles was set to fully release their newest bike today. While that has been pushed back a bit, they have provided a sneak peek at the new Onset MT 29er.
After launching their first 29ers last spring, the brand is now adding a longer travel big wheeler, the Onset MT. We don’t know a lot of details on the new rig just yet, but we do know that it will feature 155mm of rear travel and will replace the original 27.5″ Haste.

Equipped with a 160mm travel suspension fork, the frame uses a longer 230mm x 60mm shock in an AFS (Active Float System) frame that gets more linkage rotation due to a revised seat stay. Even though it will come with a 160mm travel fork, the frame can accept up to a 170mm fork and will ship with either a 2021 Fox 36 Rhythm or Fox 38 Grip2 fork.
Geometry will include a slack 64.5° head tube angle and more sizing with a new XL featuring a 488mm reach. The new frame will also be 11% stiffer in the rear, and will also get internal dropper post routing. When the bike is launched on the 30th, it will also include a Limited Edition blue and gold colorway in addition to the current gray and orange or black and gray options.
