Burley is ready to help us haul more by bike with both a new folding Travoy cargo trailer and a new lineup of Dash rear child seats. The Travoy is complete overhaul of Burley’s popular urban cargo trailer, with updated features for easy transitions on & off the bike, carrying supplies around town and beyond.
The Dashes are lightweight, secure plastic rear seats to carry young children on many different types of around town and bike path rides, with rack or frame mounted options and fixed or reclining seating for your kids.
Here is Burley’s Remote Otter video submission explaining it all, followed up with photos and their key specs…
Burley Dash rear child bike seats
The new Dash family of kid seats are meant to give plenty of options for recreational cyclists looking to take their young children along for the ride – whether for weekend bike path trips or the ride to preschool.
The $150 Dash RM is the most basic & most affordable, deigned to attach to an existing rear bike rack. The $150 Dash FM is a standalone version of the same, with its own frame mount bracket. The $190 Dash X FM is the top-of-the-line “Cadillac” version, getting the same style frame mount, plus a 3-position reclining design that can tilt back up to 20° to help your kid sleep comfortably on the go.
Three different versions of the rear child bike seats offer secure 5-point adjustable harnesses and adjustable height footrests to securely carry growing kid from 12-months up until they reach the 40lb/18kg upper limit, plus a rear storage pocket to haul some snacks or a spare jacket for the little one.
All three lightweight seats (2.9-4.2kg for the seat alone, plus 500-600g for the frame bracket ) are designed for quick, tool-free installation, and include removable/washable seat & harness padding.
Burley Travoy adaptable bike cargo trailer
Burley is long known for bike trailers, but the folding Travoy is something different than your typical tow-behind… an everyday utility trailer meant to transition from being towed behind your bike to becoming a handheld dolly to carry things like groceries around town. This is more of an urban mobility trailer than a dedicated bike trailer.
The $300 Burley Travoy is a two-wheeled dolly that will help you leave the car behind for more trips close to home. Its new Quick Hitch means you can clamp the trailer to the 25-35mm diameter seatpost of your bike in seconds, tool-free. So attach it to most any bike for a run to the local shop, pop it off to walk through the store and load up with goods, then clamp it back on for the ride home. A new extendable tow arm also increases compatibility, stretching over rear racks and e-bike batteries to just fit behind more bikes.
The whole 4.8kg Burley trailer folds down small for space-saving storage at home or even in the trunk of your car (for those longer trips), down to 21″ x 18″ x 8″ (53x47x20cm) with its 12.5″ wheels. Just 20″/51cm wide while riding behind your bike, the Travoy can haul up to 60lb.27kg worth of gear or groceries. Two versions are available, classic black or cool gray, with a full range of optional shopping bags coming in May or a fitted rain cover for commuting in foul weather.
