Thanks to the increased stiffness and durability of Industry Nine’s System wheels with burly aluminum spokes, a lot of riders don’t need the full complement of 32 spokes. That’s precisely why I prefer their lower spoke count, 24h system wheels. Which until now, have not been available with Super Boost hubs.

Since the wider 12 x 157mm rear ends seem to be gaining in popularity with more brands jumping on board, Industry Nine is adding more options to their catalog. This is definitely not the first Super Boost compatible wheelset that they’ve offered, but it is the first time that you’ll be able to get them in 24h builds.

Why would you want 24h over 32h? If you’re a lighter rider or someone who is easy on equipment, and you’re looking for a light weight built with a more compliant ride, the 2:1 24h wheels are the perfect match. If you’re going big, or have a tendency to destroy components, then you should probably stick with the 32h option.

Since these are for their aluminum spoke System wheels, they will only be available as complete wheelsets. Options will include the UL250, TR270, UL280c, TR280c, EN315c and EN355c wheels.

As usual, you’ll have the ability to custom build your wheels through Industry Nine’s Ano Lab, picking the color of individual spokes, hubs, valves, and decals. Super Boost 24h hubs are available now to fit bikes with both 12 x 150 and 12 x 157mm rear ends.

Got some non I9 produced data for those opinions?

Good luck finding independent data on wheel stiffness from any manufacturer. I can vouch for their wheels all feeling extremely stiff though, as do all reviews.

Hello again Riley.

Please, somebody, point to something that shows factually (not subjectively) where more stiffness is a good thing.

Secondly, where is there anything showing that fewer spokes, made from a material which does not do as well in terms of fatigue cycles vs. stainless steel, make for a longer lasting wheel?

Anyone? Anyone?

Sometimes the world is too complicated for a chart that gives you the answer you want. You could have a 100 measurements on a 100 wheels and you would just be more confused.

One measurement is worth a thousand expert opinions.

If they (the company) are making this claim then there MUST be a measurement. Otherwise i can just claim that their wheels are trash according to my testing.

So these wheels are complete trash. i have tested them but the data is too complicated for your plebeian brains to comprehend so you will just have to take my word. Since i tested them of course.

I personally miss the days where 36h hubs and rims were readily available. J-bend, naturally. I’m somewhat sick of roasting a rim or two every single season.
