Lightweight German bike builder Storck is celebrating 25 years with a new superlight premium build of their 700g Aernario.2 Premium road bike – the Signature 25th Anniversary edition. The crazy part is that at a claimed complete bike weighs as low as 5.7kg, it’s almost half the price of the slightly lighter build that was offered when the Aernario.2 first debuted.
Storck Aernario.2 Signature 25th Anniversary ultralight road bike
Interestingly, this 25th Aernario.2 isn’t their first lightweight anniversary edition, and it’s not even their lightest – a title that would go to this 5.4kg 50th Anniversary Aernario six years ago. Wait, what? OK, that 50th was founder Marcus Storck’s birthday, now we are talking 25 years of bike building. And while this complete bike is up to a half kilo heavier, it’s also probably more ridable every day with a 12% lighter frame, modern tubeless wheels and a 44% lower pricetag.
The new Storck Aernario.2 Signature 25th edition is the same designed-in-Germany, manufactured-in-China rim brake Aernario.2 Premium frameset we saw at Eurobike back in 2017. Complete frameset with frame, fork & headset is said to be less than 1kg.
The special edition bike gets a minimal matte black paint job with bronze accents, and claimed complete bike weights between 5.7 to 5.9kg (<13lb) across all sizes.
Storck Aernario.2 Signature 25th – Pricing, build & limited edition availability
Each individually signed and numbered by Markus Storck, only 25 bikes of the anniversary edition Aernario.2 Signature are being made available for pre-order, across the full six size range (XS-XXL) of the carbon road bike. And while the price is still high at 9000€ for a rim brake road bike, that’s 6000€ less than the similar build from back in 2017.
The complete spec includes the custom finished Aernario.2 Platinum, a complete SRAM Red AXS eTap 2×12 groupset, DT Swiss PRC 1100 wheels finished in matching bronze, plus Storck’s own super light carbon finishing kit. Bikes are available now for pre-order, with delivery slated for May 2021.
