DeFeet PrintMySock lets you create one-off custom printed cycling socks

Longing for some custom socks, but don’t want to order enough for a whole team? The new DeFeet PrintMySock program lets you order as few as one. single. pair. of fully customized socks! Design it yourself, or use their configurator, to go from toe to top with your own artwork.

Available for both the Leviator Lite cycling sock and AllDay crew sock for multi-purpose use, you can upload just about anything (in good taste) for it to be printed directly on your new favorite socks. Here’s how it works…

Inside the PrintMySock web tool, you’ll be greeted with a choice of sock, and basic or advanced design options. If you’re not feeling excessively creative, there are ‘Paint By Number’ stock designs that let you customize the colors for each of the design elements.

From there, you can upload logos, graphics, and text to really make it your own, placing them on the front, sides, rear, or any combination thereof.

But if you want to completely make it your own, DeFeet offers the ability to fully customize almost the entire sock. To do this, choose ‘upload your own design’ to use your own graphic over the entire sock

Template dimensions are 25.4cm x 49cm, with a slightly smaller “safe area” on the vertical measurement for smaller sizes…the horizontal measurement, which is about 10″, is the same for all sock sizes on these custom models.

Their knit socks do have slightly different diameter per size, but to keep designs consistent and not require users to upload different layouts for each size, they limited the cuffs to one diameter. There’s Lycra throughout, so they’ll stretch to comfortably fit most people.

There’s also only one cuff height (7″ on All Day, 6″ on Levitator Lite), which means all sizes will have the same print above the heel patch. Only the design on the bottom, below the heel patch, gets trimmed from the bottom up as sizes get smaller.

DeFeet provides a template to help figure out where the different printing areas will be, but plan on spending a little time with it to get things lined up correctly. In the photo above, uploading a graphic that’s wider than tall will yield a big white, unprinted portion…unless you scale or rotate the design to fill the space. Ideally, download the template and design around those images…or at least upload a “Portrait” photo.

The graphics are centered on the front, meaning the design wraps to meet at the back of the sock, so figuring out how the image is placed on the upload template is key.

Once you’ve uploaded your design, you can still upload graphics or logos that will show on top of that design for further customization.

Available in S-XL sizing, pricing is set at $29 per pair (roughly $10 more than the price of normal socks from DeFeet), with an expected lead time of two weeks.

There are no price breaks for volume as these are intended to serve those folks who only need a few pair. For those who want more, their custom knit socks’ minimum orders start at 36 pairs, with price breaks starting at 120 pairs.

All of their socks are produced and shipped from DeFeet’s headquarters in North Carolina.
