Brooks England expands the range of their Scape bikepacking & bike travel bag collection with three new modular packs to help escape further off the beaten track. Built with the same understated looks and waterproof construction as the original setup, the new rando-style Handlebar Case, bar bottle bag Feed Pouch, and Full Frame Bag add more gear-hauling capacity and more options to customize your perfect bike bag setup.

Plus, the whole line is now available in basic Black, in addition to the original Mud

When Brooks debuted their Scape bike travel bag line last autumn, it fell distinctly into classic touring and modern bikepacking setups. But now, adding just 3 more new bags, lines become blurred and cyclists have more options to mix & match for their perfect bag setup, all with classic Brooks styling.

The bags still follow the same ethos. They are all designed to be “durable and dependable for journeys of every nature”. The new fully-waterproof, welded-seam bags are constructed of the same UV & abrasion-resistant woven fabric (PVC & PFC-free) with tough Hypalon straps, light alloy hardware, and waterproof zips.

Scape Handlebar Case

The new 140€ Handlebar Case is a modern take on the classic randonneur handlebar bag, with a boxy top-loading shape that makes it easy to cram a lot of gear inside. The 8L box bag is 26cm across x 17cm deep and 22.5cm tall overall, designed to fit in between a set of drop bars.

Inside, 2 zippered pockets & 2 mesh pouches keep its contents organized, while a waterproof external front zip pocket should keep your brevet card dry.

Swift Industries Paloma Handlebar Bag, quick release KlickFix rackless randonneur-style bar bag

The 650g case attaches to your handlebar with a German-made KLICKfix quick release handlebar bracket (included), so you can load it up with up to 5kg of gear off the bike, then just snap it back into place when it’s time to ride again (just like the smaller Swift Paloma bag.) It gets side loops so you can attach a shoulder strap to carry your gear with you off the bike, as well.

The Brooks Scape Handlebar Case definitely leans towards classic road touring or commuting. And while KLICKfix, can totally handle some dirt road riding, it’s probably not as well suited for adventure biking.

Scape Feed Pouch

The 50€ Feed Pouch is a straightforward 1L bottle bag that straps between your stem and bar, no matter what bike or adventure you are riding. Stuff it with a bunch of snacks, tuck a medium-sized camera inside, or just use it to carry an extra water bottle.

The simple bag has a cinch top closure, a mesh external pocket in the bag to stash your empty snack wrappers and any trash you pick up off the trail, and a long loop to secure it down around your fork crown for bumpy off-roading.

Scape Full Frame Bag

Lastly, the 120€ Full Frame Bag is simply a larger extension of the original 3L Frame Bag to fill out and take more advantage of the full front triangle of your bike for more overnight & multi-day bikepacking trips. It has removable straps around the entire bag to get a secure fit, plus a cable port to connect a powerbank or dynamo to your phone or GPS.

The new triangular 5L full frame bag is said to fit “most standard-sized frames” at 29cm tall x 48cm long x 6cm wide, a bit longer than the partial frame bag. Curiously, it only gets pockets on the one side (driveside) of your bike, with the large main pocket accessed from the top zip under a protection flap, and a second slim pocket with a waterproof zip midway down the bag.

The new Brooks Scape bikepacking & bike travel packs are available now for whatever type of road travels you have planned, direct from Brooks England or via their global retailer network.
