Mondraker are asking you to raise your expectations of what a 130mm travel trail bike can manage with the release of the all-new Mondraker Raze. It rolls up with a trail-specific kinematic promising the pedaling efficiency of an XC bike combined with the downhill capabilities of an enduro bike; quiver killer territory. The bike combines a Stealth Air Full Carbon Frame with Mondraker’s own on-board MIND telemetry system in a bid to deliver the best possible ride feel, almost straight off the bat.

Mondraker say the new Raze takes the best of the F-Podium XC Bike, and the best of the Foxy Carbon Enduro Bike, combining them into a 130mm travel Trail Bike that will perform up and down. This 29er gets the sleek, drawn-out silhouette typical of a Mondraker with the long top tube translating to that generously large cockpit we’ve come to expect from the Spanish brand’s Forward Geometry design philosophy.

The Monobloc rocker is a one-piece carbon fibre design; the lower link is optimised for increased stiffness as compared to the lower link on previous iterations of the ZERO Suspension Platform

The 130mm rear end is paired with a 150mm travel fork, with all models benefiting from Mondraker’s proprietary integrated telemetry system; MIND. This is a very attractive feature of Mondraker bikes, tech they developed over three years of testing with their World Cup Downhill riders. What was once an expensive and complex piece of technology, both to fit and understand, is now a seamlessly integrated device designed to be understandable by all riders, not just those with a degree in engineering.

The bike benefits from Mondraker’s Hidden Housing Guide cable routing, with the rear brake hose, dropper post and gear cables fed through the headset for a neat aesthetic that maximizes the clean-cut lines of the frame; this means no adjustable head tube cups, however.

Sensors on the fork and rocker of the Zero Suspension linkage gather data on travel usage 100 times per second; they do this by measuring the magnetic field from magnets on the left fork leg and swingarm main pivot, respectively.

All models of the Raze have a shock with a light compression tune and ultralight rebound tune, with 0.6 volume spacers pre-installed

Unlike the 2022 Mondraker Foxy Carbon, geometry is fixed. Available in sizes S-XL, reach figures extend from 455mm to 515mm within that range, with each frame size sporting 435mm chainstays. A 150mm travel fork gives the Raze a 65.5° head tube angle paired with a 76.5° seat tube angle, with the bottom bracket sitting 30mm below the dropouts at a height of 343mm.

The downtube of the Raze features a Fidlock pocket. The image on the top left shows how the frame is shipped with a plate for mounting a regular water bottle. The plate can however be switched out for a Fidlock mounting plate; the downtube recess simply allows the mount to sit flush with the frame so that a Fidlock water bottle can sit lower on the frame, leaving more clearance for larger bottles. Mondraker will be selling branded Fidlock water bottles with the mounting plate.

The Raze frame is built around a boost rear end, protected at the downtube and chainstays with custom frame protectors, also designed to minimize noise.

Pricing & Availability

Initially, Mondraker are offering the Raze in three full carbon models only; the Raze RR SL, RR, and R. All seem to be appropriately spec’d for reasonably aggressive trail riding with 4-piston brakes , 60 TPI EXO Casing Maxxis rear tires, dropper seat posts and chain guides.
