Melbourne-based MAAP has been releasing new apparel faster than we can keep up. From collaborations with 100% and New Era to complete new collections like their Training kit, MAAP is showing no signs of slowing down. Most recently, MAAP took on the world of gravel, all-road, and adventure riding with their appropriately named Alt_Road Collection—which will be of particular interest to those who prefer tight-fitting clothing without giving up on durability.

Alt_Road Cargo Bibs

Calling it a modular clothing collection, the Alt Road line is a collection of pieces meant to make up a kit that will work for a wide variety of riding climates and conditions. All of the pieces build off the cargo bib shorts which feature dual pockets on the back, and side cargo pockets including one with a zipper to keep things safe.

Made from a 4-way stretch woven fabric with abrasion-resistant leg panels, and a proprietary 3D thermo molded 3-layer chamois with an anti-microbial top layer, the bibs offer UPF 50+ protection from the sun and are offered in men’s & women’s for $335 each.

Alt_Road Polartec Tees

For those who are into the baggy-on-top, tights-on-bottom look, there are a few Polartec Ride Tees on offer that use 50% recycled PET fiber and include Polartec Power Dry tech to keep you dry and comfortable. Short sleeve tees sell for $90, with the long sleeves offered for $95 in both men’s and women’s.

Alt_Road Jerseys

Fortunately, there are also tight-fitting Alt Road jerseys in long and short sleeves built with their proprietary Natrualmatch merino wool. This fabric is made in a partnership with Miti Spa in Italy, and results in a natural and synthetic fiber blend that claims to have a soft touch that provides excellent temperature regulation as well as anti-odor and anti-microbial properties. Again available in men’s and women’s, the SS Alt_Road Jerseys sell for $195, and the LS is $215.

Alt_Road Thermals

Since it’s not always perfectly warm on adventures, MAAP has also added a Thermal Jacket and Vest—both with the incredible performance of Polartec Alpha lining. Combined with a windproof exterior fabric with a DWR coating, you end up with a jacket or vest that should keep you warm and dry in many conditions short of a downpour. Available in men’s or women’s, the vest will set you back $180, while the Jacket is $295.

Alt_Road Gloves

Rounding out the clothing, MAAP has the interesting Alt_Road glove, and of course, socks. We haven’t seen many (if any) long finger gloves specifically meant for hot-weather gravel riding, so the Alt Road glove with its knit back panel, Airaprene palm padding, touchscreen compatible fingertips, AX Suede palm, and a DWR coating is very intriguing. It’s also very expensive with a $90 price tag!

The Alt_Road Merino socks are a little more palatable, but still quite expensive at $30 for the pair.

MAAP x Apidura Frame Pack

Lastly, since all good adventures require extra gear and snacks, MAAP partnered with Apidura on this frame bag. While similar to the Apidura 4L Racing Frame pack, the MAAP x Apidura Frame bag has an added external pocket on the left side of the bag. Weighing in at 205g, the bag has a 4L capacity and is offered in one size with adjustable straps for $175.
