3T gravel gets more affordable with Exploro Pro Rival build

Just weeks after adding another high end build to their line up, 3T is now looking at the other end of the spectrum. Adding to the numerous Exploro build options, the newest version will also be the most affordable.

3T gravel gets more affordable with Exploro Pro Rival build

Called the Pro Rival build, this is the lowest spec Exploro in spite of the “Pro” connotation. Listed as the only build to use the “Exploro Pro” frame, the frame specifics aren’t given. It’s listed as having the same “Unidirectional pre-preg carbon, High-modulus/high-strength performance blend layup” as the Exploro Team frame but we wouldn’t be surprised if the frame uses slightly different grades of carbon fiber. The fork is also listed as a 3T Fango Pro rather than the Team model.

The build also features a more affordable drivetrain with a SRAM Rival1 1×11 group and hydraulic disc brakes. Fulcrum Racing 7 DB 700c wheels with Schwalbe G-one tires let it roll, and a few 3T parts finish the build.

Offered in four sizes, the 3T Exploro Pro Rival will get you into the aero gravel family for $3,599.99. That’s still a lot for an “entry level” bike, but it does manage to drop $500 from the price of the next model up.

Just wish the headline was: “3T gravel Exploro Pro Rival still a lot for an “entry level” bike, but it does manage to drop $500 from the price of the next model up”

Since when has the Exploro ever been considered an “entry level’ rig….? You owe me another dime for my ‘complain about pricing retirement fund’. What’s the tally now Jim, .30¢-.40¢? You’re on a roll man!

This is an entry level offering within the 3ttt sphere. By no means has the Exploro been ever considered an entry level bike in a general sense. To interpret that any other way is, well… [shoulder shrugging] at best.

Your financial woes aren’t interesting enough to keep complaining on every single post about a bike that you can’t afford and will never buy… Over and over and over and over and over again. Since you’re so adamant to let everyone know you owe me a cool .50¢ now.

Really though why do you care that I (& others) think bike prices are out of control? I’m glad you like all these bikes and are able to afford them, but not everyone is a dentist &/or works for Q!

Well Jimmy, if everybody had the internet in 1989 you would find the same complaints. Bicycling is an expensive sport so get used to it. What struck me about you is not so much the whining, but the frequency of you comments along with disparaging people because they can afford what you cannot. Or assuming people are getting pro deals because they’re industry. Seems like awfully gauche behavior to me. But please keep it up, you’re by far the biggest contributor to my “People who whine about the price of bike stuff they’ll never buy anyway retirement fund” .10¢ per complaint please.

Say whatever you want about the price, but the headline is accurate. The new build is 12% more affordable than the previous lowest model.

Where is the (deleted) Force Etap Exploro (no, the Eagle/Force combo with its $1000+ cranks don’t count, pretty as it may be)? 3T just doesn’t seem to want my money.
