3T jumped into the wheels game with their high end carbon tubular Mercurio wheels in May, then followed with the Accelero’s no-photos-included announcement in June.
Now, 3T has added a 40mm deep wheel option to the Mercurio lineup and Accelero 40 Pro alloy clinchers.
The Mercurio 40 LTD uses the same side-entrance spoke design of the originals and center pull Cane Creek inspired hubs (check this post for closeups and details), which they say results in a very light, easily serviced tubular rim. It also borrows the advanced composites and SwissStop pads to improve wet weather braking performance. Claimed set weight is 1250g, and it’s SRAM/Shimano/Campagnolo freehub compatible. They come with Ti axle skewers. Rim width is 23mm at the brake track.
The Accelero 40 Pro wheels actually measure in at 37mm deep and 23mm wide at the brake track. The rims are 6000-series alloy with a matte black brushed finish and rounded aero shape. It’s billed as an “everyday aero wheelset” that’s rugged and durable. Claimed weight is 1890g per pair and they come with a steel QR axle.
