In the world of bike apparel, we’ve seen quite a few larger outerwear brands branch into the cycling market. It’s relatively rare, however, for cycling apparel brands to broaden their scope and diversify their product offerings to include other sports and activities. But that’s exactly what 7Mesh is doing with its new Guardian Collection of outerwear.

7Mesh was founded by former Arc’teryx designers and has been producing some of the highest-quality technical cycling apparel for over a decade. The Squamish, BC-based brand is now leveraging its design, materials, and technical expertise with its new Guardian Collection. The team at 7Mesh intends this new range of lightweight and technically advanced outerwear to be incredibly versatile and “perform across a wide range of outdoor pursuits for the modern explorer.”

7Mesh’s new Guardian Collection aims to have you covered for all your outdoor pursuits.

Like many who live in mountain towns, the team at 7Mesh is full of multi-sport athletes, and the Guardian Collection is inspired by the rugged coastal mountain where the brand is based. When winter comes, their bikes often lie dormant while they trail run, backcountry ski, climb, or tick off mountaineering objectives. According to 7Mesh’s President and Co-Founder, Tyler Jordan, “The Guardian Collection empowers the modern adventurer with a ‘go anywhere, do anything’ mindset — light, durable, packable, and versatile. If you can dream it, we want Guardian to be there with you.”

Biking, running, skiing, you name it, and the Guardian Jackets are up for it.

According to 7Mesh, “The Guardian Collection sets a new benchmark in the category of ultralight technical shells, combining best-in-class weight — notably with the featherlight Guardian Air, at 200g — with the durability and sustainability of next-generation Gore-Tex ePE fabric. Designed for dynamic, high-output movement across multiple disciplines, the collection goes beyond traditional rain protection with a thoughtful feature set that includes advanced articulation, stretch, helmet-compatible hoods, and intuitive storage systems. While many ultralight shells compromise on performance or versatility, Guardian delivers both — raising the bar for what modern multisport outerwear can and should be.”

At present, the Guardian Collection consists of three pieces, all of which are intended to provide lightweight weather protection across a wide range of activities. Constructed using Gore-Tex’s new ePE fabric, these pieces aim to provide the highest level of weather protection with less environmental impact. As such, all of the Guardian garments are completely PFAS-free and Bluesign and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. The Guardian Air Jacket, Guardian Apex Jacket, and Guardian Apex Pants are available for men and women.
