We’ve been teased with and teasing Aaron Gwin’s signature DH tire from Onza since early 2016, and it’s finally here. After initially seeing it at Eurobike and getting most of the tech details, they showed it again at Taipei Show this spring with a few tweaks to ease production and make sure it lived up to Gwin’s expectations as a World Cup winner. Check the video and additional specs below…
It’ll be available only in a 27.5 x 2.4 with your choice of two rubber compounds – the 45a/55a durometer RC, or the softer, tackier VISCO 40a. The latter will wear faster, but provide maximum grip. Both are wire bead, with the same 1325g weight. It uses their two-ply DHC casing with an additional 40×40 tpi layer running bead to bead to further improve puncture and tear protection. Pricing is 79.99 for the RC model, and $84.99 for Visco.
