A fundraiser has been established for professional freerider Adolf Silva. Earlier this week, we reported on the results of this year’s Redbull Rampage event. Unfortunately, this year’s event was marked by some of the most catastrophic crashes we’ve seen in years.

Most notable was Adolf Silva’s double backflip attempt down a tremendously large drop. Silva came up short and was airlifted from the Utah venue. While “updates” in the form of photos of Silva in a hospital bed were posted in the following days, no information was shared on the extent of his injuries.

That is, until today. Unfortunately, reports are that Silva has no sensation from the chest down. We first saw the update on Silva’s condition from an Instagram post from Road 2 Recovery, a foundation supporting injured professional athletes.

According to Road 2 Recovery:

“In October 2025, during Red Bull Rampage, Adolf suffered a life-changing crash while doing what he loves most: pushing limits and chasing progression. The impact left him with a serious spinal injury. Right now, Adolf has no sensation below the chest. It’s simply too early for anyone to know what the future holds; only time, healing, and his body’s own signals will tell. What hasn’t changed is his spirit.”

They go on to say:

“This is the same rider who came back from a coma and a broken femur to land world-firsts and lift the next generation. The challenge is bigger now — but so is our community.”

We, of course, are gutted to hear this news and are wishing Adolf Silva a speedy recovery. If you would like to contribute to Silva’s recovery, you can do so through Road 2 Recovery.

Update:

Adolf Silva recently posted an update to his YouTube channel detailing his injuries. According to Silva, he broke his T2/T3 vertebrae and dislocated them all the way down to T6. That’s in addition to breaking his sternum and 6 ribs. A five-hour surgery was needed to stabilize his spine, and he currently has no feeling from the chest down. Silva plans to keep everyone updated on his progress while recovering with a new series called Still LOCO.

Sorry to read about his injuries and I hope he recovers. Doesn’t the enemy organizer provide or require medical insurance? Seems like a basic requirement for these type of events.

Enemy organizer is an accurate autocorrect.

Monster should pay it because he rides/advertises for them. Sponsors need to accept liability for how they sell their products.

Red Bull needs to have skin in the game . They keep setting the bar so high with dangerous stunts . Honestly their drink kills everyone so will they do the right thing ? TBD

Rampage is getting more and more extreme every year to the point where it’s hard to watch and support. It seems like every year there is some big accident and the outcomes are only getting worse. I fear that the next headline will be a rider falls to their death.

I agree with most comments. My assumption though is that Red Bull is staying well clear of any medical insurance or funding, as it would cast even more of a shadow over their Rampage event, and would give the impression that they are ultimately liable, at least in the eyes of the public. Welcome to the world of multi-billion dollar corporations

Poor guy. This is horrible. I hate to say it, but it is ultimately the rider’s responsibility to know the risks they are taking. Anything other than that and it is like young Bruce Wayne being held responsible fo his parents’ murder since he wanted them to leave the theater early.

At what point does watching this event become like watching someone play Russian roulette? I know this athlete freely chose to perform the stunt and accepted the risks, but is it ethical for a corporation to promote this level of risk taking in order to profit from the attention it generates? While all sport has some level of inherent risk, I think this is well past the level of acceptability.

On the road to uncertainty. Hopefully Adolf will gain use of all of his body. Red Bull keeps pushing the extreme sports and more professionals will unfortunately get gravely injured or worse. These corporations need to fund any unforseen medical issues.
