The new, 2020 Juliana Joplin bumps rear travel to 120mm, pairs it with a 130mm fork, and gets longer and slacker than ever to create a monster modern trail bike. Like much of the Juliana (aka Santa Cruz Bicycles) full suspension lineup, it switches to their lower-link driven rear shock design. And like all of the Juliana bikes, the tech and features are a direct port over from the similar SCB model, in this case the Tallboy 4. Check out all the tech details in that story, and keep reading for build specs and options available with Juliana branding…
The frame will come in top-level CC carbon and standard C carbon, as well as one alloy frame that loses the adjustable rear axle position. On the carbon frames, that lets you switch from a 430mm chainstay length to 440mm if you want a little more stability on the descents. The bike is already really long and low, and you also have a switchable shock mount to make it a (really tiny) bit steeper.
The new Joplin is designed for 1x drivetrains only. All frame sizes, including a new XS, get mounts for a full size water bottle inside the front triangle. A second bottle mounting position is under the downtube.
