Apidura’s newest 1L Backcountry Frame Pack is their smallest yet, designed to fit more on-bike storage to full-suspension mountain bikes. While most Apidura bags have long-distance bikepacking in mind, this new little frame pack is just as well suited for the off-road rider looking to ditch their backpack and carry tools, spares & snacks securely strapped to their frames…
Apidura Backcountry Frame Pack 1L
This new small tapered-wedge Backcountry Frame Pack was developed to fit a wide range of modern mountain bikes, but it will probably be most well-suited for full-suspension bikes with shocks that take up a lot of real estate in the main triangle. For riders that might even have trouble fitting more than a small bottle in their frame, the small Apidura Backcountry Frame Pack will likely tuck in between the sloping top & down tubes.
Tech details
At 6cm wide, 22cm long, and just over 10cm at its tallest, the 1L frame pack essentially offers the same amount of storage as most toptube bags, at a weight of just 100g. Use it for ride fuel, a spare tube & mini tool, a battery pack for night riding lights, or maybe even a packable rain jacket.
With 3-straps that fit into 6 attachment points, the trapezoidal wedge shape is even completely reversible front-to-back to work with both slack or steep frame geometries – and compatible with the Backcountry Top Tube Pack straps.
The frame pack is made of the same durable waterproof 420D nylon fabric and welded-seam construction as the rest of Apidura’s off-road-focused Backcountry bag range, and features a waterproof zip to get in from both sides. It has cable routing ports on both ends, letting you only pierce the hole for the one you want to use. Inside, besides the bright yellow lining there’s a strap to secure something like a pump from bouncing around down the trail, and outside it gets low-key reflective graphics
