The new Aventon Soltera brings an even simples, more affordable e-bike option to their already very affordable range. It’s available in a disc-brake equipped 7-speed model, but the most affordable and lightest Soltera is the single-speed option, retailing at just $1,199 USD.

Pitched as a powerful and nimble eBike for urban adventures, the Soltera features neatly integrated lights with optional racks and fenders available to transform it into a practical commuter. Here are the details…

Following release of the Aventure Fat Tire eBike and Level Commuter eBike in late 2021, Aventon is riding into 2022 aboard a single-speed e-Bike. Aventon hasn’t pigeonholed it, leaving it up to the customer to decide whether they want a rack and fenders to turn it into a commuter e-bike, or leave it bare for speedy transport. With standard mounting points, you can add those later if you want, too.

The Soltera gets a 350W Brushless Rear Hub Motor, which means more efficiency with fewer moving parts to deliver what is essentially a maintenance-free motor. For the singlespeed model, that means extremely little upkeep.

Integrated lights mean you’ll never forget them, and a kickstand keeps it upright when parked.

Assistance can be delivered via a throttle or the pedal-assist mode up to a speed of 20 MPH with average range quoted as 41 miles on a full charge.

The integrated front and rear lights ensure you can see and be seen at night, with the rear lights positioned on the seat stays where they are visible from the rear and, importantly, the sides too, so you can be seen at junctions by all other road users.

The Soltera singlespeed model gets rim brakes which, while less powerful than their hydraulic disc brake counterparts, are perfectly fine for casual riders.

The Soltera weighs 41 lbs (18.5 kg) without a rack and fenders. That’s probably light enough to carry up a flight of stairs, but that’s for you to decide. If you’re planning on using this e-Bike for grocery shopping, bear in mind that the bike has a maximum load capacity of 300 lbs (136 kg), including the rider, racks, and other gear.

The 7-Speed Soltera upgrades to disc brakes for more confident stopping power, and adds a Shimano rear derailleur to move through the 7-speed cassette. If you live in a hilly area, or just want the better brakes, it’s worth the extra $100…this model retails for only $1,299.
