Even if you don’t have a lot of money to spend, you should still be able to get a quality bike. Well, that’s how Batch Bicycles sees it anyway. Using Interbike to introduce their bicycle line to the world, Batch Bicycles is establishing themselves as an affordable alternative to the cheap bikes of department stores, and the more expensive bikes of your local bike shop. Established in April of this year, Batch Bicycles is a subsidiary of United Wheels Limited – the same parent company of Huffy Bicycles and now Niner Bikes as well.

Batch Bicycles will be sold exclusively through your local bike shop, though you will be able to order them through their website or app with final delivery and assembly through the IBD.

Priced from $89 to $489, the Batch line up focuses on inexpensive but quality builds with a clean aesthetic and useful spec. Different models will be available from kid’s balance bikes, to adult hybrids, all with unique touches and details you might not expect to find on bikes of this price. Everything is available for pre-order now, while bike shops will start to receive their first Batch at the end of October.

I certainly appreciate the idea, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone describe Shimano’s Tourney line as “rugged” before…

Zach didn’t do much writing here. Looks like a nearly total copy & paste job from Batch’s sell sheets. Nonetheless I wish the company success with getting IBDs to stock the line. Spec and pricing looks good, but it’ll be an uphill battler.

Their booth was slammed at the show. The product guys said many dealers signed up and they were more then pleased w/ the response at IB.

The Commuter line fade paint jobs are beautiful. Why don’t more high end bikes do something like this? (I’m sort of sick of the all black carbon too-serious-for-it’s-own-good paint job.)

These don’t seem any cheaper than what is already available through the larger retailers in my area, and the little kids bikes looks exactly what is already available through most department stores. Maybe I’m missing the point, but I don’t see anything new here.

I hope the price on the commuter bike is a typo or i know how they intend to pay for that chopped up airstream. $4300 for a cruiser bike with a steel for is more than overpriced.
