Spring has officially sprung, which means the BC Bike Race is less than two months away! The seven day mountain bike stage race is set to start on June 27 and continue through July 3. Touted as one of the most epic and fun on some of the best single track in the world, BCBR 2010 is sure to be even better than ever.

Currently the race is 95% sold out, so if you’re planning on racing you better get on it! Unfortunately if you haven’t registered by now, you will have to pay the new BC HST tax which will add 7% to the total fee, bummer.

For 2010, BCBR has partnered with Shimano and Rocky Mountain meaning participants and the general public will have the opportunity to demo Rocky Mountain bikes, have their Rocky Mountain bikes tuned up by factory mechanics, and hang out with Rocky Mountain team racers vying for the 2010 BC Bike Race title. “We’re coming with some of our best racers and some new technology up our sleeves. We think we’ve got the perfect weapon for this race”, commented Rocky Mountain Bicycles Marketing Manager, Pete Roggeman.

“We are thrilled to be working with Shimano, we strongly identify with their mission statement ‘To promote health and happiness through the enjoyment of nature and the world around us”, commented Dean Payne, BC Bike Race Founder.

In addition to an incredible roster of international competitors, BCBR is proud to welcome back local mountain biking legend Geoff Kabush. So far there are racers participating from all over the world including; Belgium, Mexico, Japan, Israel, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand and England.  Check out the full list of registered riders here.
