The “Classics” are road racing’s heritage. Races that have gone on for over 100 years that follow many of the same routes and the very cobbles that they once rumbled over. The Paris Roubaix, one of, if not the most challenging and soul robbing one-day event is happening tomorrow, (Sunday 4:30am EST for those wanting to catch it live), and regardless of who is the best rider, course conditions could be the determining factor. There was almost a re-route due to very dangerous levels of mud atop sections of cobbles, (no kidding), but farmers and officials got busy so the sections are actually now rideable.

Above, three four time winner, king of cobbles Tom Boonen is set for yet another round of Paris Roubaix. With the competition stronger than ever, does he have the strength and support to pull off a 4th 5th?

As the Hulk Thing says, “It’s clobber time!”,  and the Hulk dawned Sagan is coming off a massive high after smashing the competition at the Tour de Flanders last week while wearing the world championship stripes. There is no doubt that Peter is stronger than ever and winning another classic has to be at the top of his list. Between his strength, off-road skills and overall preparedness, could we see another Sagan victory?

Scott bikes and the IAM Cycling team take the Scott Solace through the paces in prep for Roubaix.

Trek’s new Domane SLR has some of the highest tech ever built into a road bike and it is no doubt the best weapon of choice for Fabian Cancellara who was a key contributor to its design.

Tinkoff shows us some great perspectives of what is to be expected at this year’s Roubaix. Let’s see how the course looks tomorrow.

I love the behind the scenes and seeing how teams make changes to equipment for races such as the Paris Roubaix. I stumbled on this video from Ford, Team Sky’s car sponsor and the changes they have to make to the cars is no doubt important.

“Above, three time winner, king of cobbles Tom Boonen” He won 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2012.
IF he wins now he is record holder. With 5 wins! (shame on you BikeRumor)

Hem… Tom Boonen already won Paris-Roubaix four times: 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2012. Gotta go for fifth.

Love to see P-R being appreciated and elevated to such a high level today especially in America

Boonen is a four time winner of the cobbled classic, not three.

Holy crap, this story leads with a Specialized video and five posts in, not a single one has a lawsuit comment.

I am shocked, BR readers/trolls.

I’ll bite.

BR best be wary of using the word Roubaix in that title without referencing the bike with said moniker, lest the wrath of big S come down to smite them.

Better now?

Missing the number of Boonen wins is tragic. Almost as bad is that the Hulk didn’t say, “It’s clobber time.” It was the Thing from Fantastic Four and the quote is, “It’s clobberin’ time.”

“It’s clobberin time” is the Thing’s battlecry, not the Hulks.

I love you BR, but I think you need to stick with what you do best, which is not talking about pro racing (and apparently comic book characters!). Glad you corrected the glaring Boonen error, but you only half fixed the Hulk/Thing comment 🙂

Aside from the previously mentioned errors, I thought it was funny that there was a section on IAM Cycling’s use of the Scott Solace, where a Scott Foil won the race.
