Want to buy the largest and most complete bicycle museum in the United States?  The Pedaling History Bicycle Museum in Orchard, NY, is up for sale to finance the retirement of founders Carl and Clarice Burgwardt.  The collection is valued at about $4 million, and they apparently have an offer from an overseas entity…which means the collection will likely leave the U.S. unless someone domestically steps in.
The 1890’s Pope Manufacturing military bicycles above are just two of the nearly 100 bikes on display at the museum, along with thousands of cycling-related items, memorabilia and history. The full article regarding the sale and potential move is here.
