Apparently India is seeing a surge in cycling for both recreation and transportation, and Firefox Bikes took advantage of the trend by showing a range of high-end road, mountain and commuter/city bicycles at the India Auto Expo this past weekend.
Reported in The Hindu, Shiv Inder Singh (pictured), managing director of Firefox Bikes, an Indian bicycle distributor, used the show to exhibit their range of 2010 bikes, including the ten Trek models they carry. Using the Trek TTX time trial bike with Corima aero wheels as eye candy, their booth showed a range of models from mid- to high end.
“The increase in fuel prices has helped sales of bicycles which are an environment-friendly initiative. We need our governments to understand the importance of creating bicycle tracks, which is not only good for health but also helps in reducing our carbon footprints,” said Mr. Singh.
It’s great to see that bicycle culture and the realization that it’s a sustainable transportation growth model is being recognized around the world!
