A bike was reported stolen from Team Cycling and Fitness in Colerain, OH last Monday. The owner, Geoff Thielmeyer, sent an e-mail to bike shops in the area Tuesday morning asking them to be on the lookout for it.
A few hours later, a bike fitting the description and matching the serial number was spotted outside Jason Reser’s, Reser Bicycle Outfitters in Newport, KY. The best part: the suspected bike thief was in Reser’s bike shop buying a bike lock.
Reser recognized the bike and used the fastest bike from his shop to follow the man as he called Newport police. The chase lasted a while and ended with Reser getting punched in the face moments before police arrived and arrested the 43 year old man. Oh sweet sweet justice.
