It’s a Campy cappuccino machine steam pressure regulator; made by Campy’s Japanese manufacturing syndicate.

Best thing about Airline shifting was ergonomics, really: Left thumb, right thumb. Keep a good grip on the handlebar and still do the necessary shifts, even when the going gets rowdy. Loved the system, but for Shimano it was more like a grave for some million dollars.

Definitely a seatpost, but not campy, it says made in japan. It’s a Honda seatpost, used in DH long ago by greg minaar.

I’m guessing by the looks of the the valve sorta thing and the dials and stuff that it’s either a left handed smoke shifter, or an exhaust ??defibrillator gasket valve?

close Your Face. real close. but it’s actually from the early 50s. campy has always been way ahead of its time. the developed that for merckx, who was super anal about his fluid flow rates.

this is for a tire pressure regulation system that allows you to inflate or deflate on the go (inflation from an onboard air canister).

Answer from Wes at First Flight Bicycles: The first pic is the regulator for the Airlines system which has the pressure release safety valve and gauges. The second is the entire Shimano Airlines Kit which was a limited production pneumatic shifting system for downhill bikes.
