Another look back to a warm climate at a colder time of year, reader Albert Kammerer sent in this photo from his winter trip into the ‘semi-desert’ of the Bardenas Reales in the north of Spain. “It is an endless network of gravel roads, hills and canyons. It is spectacular during the winter months with weather conditions varying from foggy cold days, hefty winds or pure sunshine. Just make sure you have plenty of water, reliable GPS and proven equipment.” Probably too hot and dry to think about heading out there right now.
