We held our first ever Bikerumor Schwag Ride back in August in Little Rock, Arkansas, with our buddies from Orbea and Competitive Cyclist, plus support from Arkansas Cycling & Fitness and other local shops and Maxxis, Giro and Camelbak.
The turnout, as you can see above, was tremendous! We managed to pull 82 riders out of the wordwork for an awesome group ride on a Monday evening, after which we gave away about $2,000 worth of stuff from the above named companies. More pictures from the event are after the break, and we just wanted to give you a heads up that we’re planning number two for Asheville, NC, on Saturday, November 6 at Bent Creek.
So, save the date, cross your fingers for some good schwag (the pile of goods is already growing…Maxxis and Camelbak are already committed) and check out these pics from last time…
The calm before the storm…just getting things set up.
Orbea brought out a demo fleet of bikes and took the time to get each one set up just right for the riders. I got a chance to ride the new Rallon, which is wicked fast on the downhills.
We also owe a huge thanks to Orbea for getting out there and marking the course for us! They really stepped up the support and helped with sign in, too!
This was just part of the pile of goodies we had to give away. We’re happy to say that everyone who stuck around after the ride for the giveaway went home with something, but it totally emptied the schwag pile! We’re stocking up with even more goodies for the second one.
Almost ready…
…and we’re off to hit the trails in Burns Park.
The parting shot before we hit the dirt.
We also wanted to say thanks to Orbea and Competitive Cyclist for giving us a tour of their facilities, which we’ll be posting about with lots of photos once we get our Interbike coverage wrapped up.
See you in Asheville!
