We’re giving away a pair of Look’s new KEO 2 Max road pedals in today’s contest to the first place winner.

Second place gets a Helmet Lock and third place gets a ByeKyle Simple Strap.  In order to win, you need to follow these rules:

  • All answers must be correct.
  • One entry per person…no edits or followups or second attempts, gotta get them right the first time.
  • Must reside in the U.S. to win.
  • If there’s any discrepancy as to whether your answer is right, we’ll leave the final decision up to the manufacturer so you don’t hate us if it doesn’t go in your favor.
  • You must use a valid email address to leave the comment, that’s how we’ll contact you if you win.
  • If you’ve never left a comment on one of our posts before, you’re comment with the answers will be queued for approval, but don’t worry…it’s time stamped, so even if it doesn’t show up right away, we’ll know when we got it and the appropriate commenter will be rewarded.
  • It might take us 24 hours to actually look at all the comments and approve a winner.  Go for a ride, we’ll get to it.

Hit ‘more’ to see the questions, then leave a comment with the right answers…

1) According to Bikerumor, when did Look debut the Keo 2 Max pedal and what teams were riding it?

2) According to Bikerumor, during the Tour de France, what did Look do for Alberto Contador on the final stage?

3) We did a post a while back about a major city passing a measure to allow bicycles to be brought into work.  In the cover pic, there are FOUR items that are in some way cycling related.  What are those four things?  (NOTE: My massive quads do not count as a correct answer)

That’s it.  Good luck and leave your answers as a comment!

This is a tricky one today but I’m going to take a shot at the “other” fourth cycling related item. I think it’s a bottle of energy tablets with a green top near the tape dispencer. I can’t identify the brand.

Oh man….I was totally convinced I’d won this one. The editor even came in, commented a couple times on my answers….and then just now, OJ’s comment gets approved….two minutes before mine. I mean, I know not to hold my breath in these things, but having that comment show up took the wind out of my sails a bit… *sad trombone*

2. They provided custom yellow Keo 2 Max pedals, complete with his signature.
3. Park Tools Scale, Camelbak Podium water bottle, Zym tablets, and a little red bike.

You have posted 70 “pic of the day” postings.
The pic on Aug 8, 2009 was taken at Mt Seymour.

Somehow, I mistook this as being the pic of the day for Aug 8. Man…that was waaaaaay off. 🙂

Doh on that cheeken. I think I got it right…double/triple checking 😛

Although second posting aren’t allowed, I’d also like to put forth the possibility of 76 Pics of the Day, and say that August 8th was, indeed, in BC.

I can argue for there being 76 pics of the day, if necessary. 🙂

Depends on if the July 21st pic counts. It wasn’t listed as a “Pic of the Day” in the title even though it is in the link to all the pics of the day.

I can also argue for the existence of 83 pics of the day.

Why do I feel like I’m now playing Name That Tune?

Do I hear another face off brewing??? This could become the never ending contest.

cheeken
cheeken

Well, it depends on if the July 21st pic counts, and, if the actual names of pics are part of the consideration, then the July 21st entry actually contains 7 individual pictures, all containing “pic-of-the-day” in their filenames.

So, that gives us 68 regular single-pic-of-the-days, plus the 7 files named pic-of-the-day from July 21st, to bring us to 75 pics of the day.

Plus, the July 5th entry, titled “PIC(S) of the day, necessarily requires multiple pics. And, indeed, there are 8 smaller pics making up one larger pic. Bringing our total possible pics of the day to 83.

No, I’m not really serious. But this *is* all true. 🙂

I say that Look just sends us all a pair of pedals and calls it good. Why fight when we can just go ride our bikes? Wouldn’t Look want to support that kind of thing: World Peace?

Poor BikeRumor Editor must hate us all for making giving away free stuff so hard 🙂

1- 77 PotD
2- Mt Seymour, BC

Tim F

I know I came to this late (thanks to my job) but I only counted the pictures before the break in the Pic of the Day section to get my answer of 77. And on the July 5th entry, I counted each picture individually, since each picture has a unique web address. ::Proceeds to cross fingers and wish for the best::

I just wish you had 4 pedal sets to give away, and we could all be winners for putting in so much effort!

…Or that I had realized those were Zym, not Nunn tablets!!

I’m sure the Editor is on the phone with the Look sales rep right now, trying to milk a few more pairs of pedals out of him. Think about it, Look Salesrep…we’ll all be Look customers for *life*.

That’s awesome of Look for throwing down that many sets of peddles! Awesome! And congrats to the winners!

That said, the ultimate results of this still confuse me. Out of curiosity, how many pics of the day were there, actually?
