Biologic's revue front and rear LED bike lights

If your bike is set up with utility in mind it’s always nice to have a wide selection of racks, baskets, smartphone mounts or other handy gadgets to customize your ride for its intended purpose, whether it’s bringing home groceries or GPS mapping a potential touring route.

Urban transport specialists Tern have released some new accessories for riders moving more than themselves, including a new heavy-duty basket and rear carrier rack that can accommodate a child seat. They’ve also shown support for the EKOCYCLE movement with two new folding bikes built with recycled materials. As for electronics, Biologic has recently announced their new Revue front and rear lights (seen above) and a protective case for the iphone 6 and 6 plus with modular mounting options.

Carry on below the break for more details…

The Biologic Revue is a compact, rechargeable LED light. The front version puts out 40 lumens of white light, and the red-lensed rear version produces 15 lumens. Both models have the same burn times at 3 hours in bright mode, 6 hours in low and 25 hours in flashing mode. The light recharges in 2.5 hours with a micro-USB cable. The lens acts as the only button for simple ‘no-look’ operation, and the Revue’s rubber strap mounts to anything between 20-40mm in diameter. Its aluminum body is sealed for use in all weather conditions. The revue sells for $19.95 USD.

Biologic sportcase mounted to bicycle stem

The Biologic Sportcase is a slim, lightweight case for the iphone 6 and 6 plus that features a plastic shell bonded to a shock resistant rubber liner. The case is textured for non-slip grip, and has two slots on either side to accommodate the company’s AnchorPoint mount system. The included mount is a claw-like clamp that grabs into the side slots and screws down for a tight fit. The claw then attaches to a series of mounts, including a standard tripod mount and mounts for bicycles, car windshields or exercise machines. The Sportcase retails for $29.95, and comes in a variety of colors.

Biologic anchorplate on smartphone case

Biologic’s Anchorplate attaches to smartphones, phone cases, cameras or other devices using a 3-M adhesive backing that supports up to 17lbs. The reinforced plastic Anchorplate is essentially an adapter that makes nearly any device compatible with Biologic’s AnchorPoint mount system. The Anchorplate sells for $24.95, including the mount.

Tern Cargo rack heavy duty rear carrier

Tern’s Cargo Rack is designed for 20 and 24” Tern bikes, and accommodates full-sized pannier bags plus trunk bags or baskets on top. The panniers can be attached to either the upper deck or lower rails, and in the lower position the bags are moved back for better heel clearance. The aluminum rack has a 55lb capacity, and is the company’s first model to be approved for use with child carrier seats. The SideStrap anti-roll anchoring system helps secure cargo on the KlickFix Rackpack compatible top deck. Suggested retail for the cargo rack is $60.

Tern Kori basket heavy duty rear basket

The Kori is Tern’s new heavy-duty rear carrier basket, built with tubular aluminum construction and a sturdy-looking bottom plate for handling hefty cargo. The basket uses a KlickFix attachment for easy and secure installation and removal, and includes a handle for easy carrying off the bike. The Kori basket is compatible with all Tern and KlickFix equipped racks, and comes in black or silver for $89.00.

Tern's EKOCYCLE folding bikes at Harrod's UK

Tern has also announced two limited edition folding bicycles created for the EKOCYCLE movement, a mass recycling initiative championed by The Coca Cola Company and musician will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas.

The hydroformed aluminum frames for the Verge X20 and the Verge P9 models are made with a minimum of 10% recycled material. The rims are built in a solar-powered, nearly grid-neutral factory, and the Verge X20 also features on-board lights powered by a dynamo generator hub.

Tern’s bikes are being sold at the EKOCYCLE shop-in-shop located within Harrod’s UK alongside 150 other EKOCYCLE products. The Verge X20 retails for $3765 USD and the Verge P9 for $1395. Tern is also giving away a Verge X20 for EKOCYCLE through Facebook, so check in during the month of April for your chance to win.

I guess if you have will.i.am’s bank roll, $3765 is not much for a folding commuter bicycle.
