Sometime, you just don’t need a lot of cargo room on your bike. And sometime, you do. Fortunately, the new Blackburn Outpost Elite Hitchhiker functions both as a stand-alone handlebar bag for those lighter days, and an add-on for the Outpost handlebar roll for those epics.
Designed to either strap directly to your handlebar or attach to the front of another bag like a handlebar roll, the Hitchhiker offers storage versatility.
The boxy shape is fairly small at 10″ wide, 6″ tall, and 3″ deep, but it still manages to offer 2.5L of additional storage. The back of the bag has eight different position for the included velcro straps so you can customize the fit. It also includes two short and two longer straps with G hooks for the same reason.
Like the rest of the Outpost Elite series, the bag features welded seams, and the top of the bag uses an overlapping lid with a bungee cord closure to keep the internals dry. A sleeve at the back of the bag is perfect for stashing your phone, maps, waffles, or other flat objects, and the front of the bag features a bungee for stashing outwear or bulkier items.
Weighing in at just 250g, the bag sells for $80.
Digital Camo Outpost Bags
The Outpost Elite bags may have eclipsed the Outpost series for their lighter weight and additional features, but the Outpost series is still available for less money. And now it’s also available for a limited time in digital camo.
Blackburn tells us this came out as a limited run right before Christmas. Just like with their last run of traditional camo bags, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
You can find the digital camo as an option for the full Outpost lineup including the Seat Pack & Dry Bag, HB Roll & Drybag, Frame bags in all sizes, Top Tube Bag, Corner Bag, Carryall Bag, and Wrap Bag. Each one is a $5 up charge from the standard black which is still an option as well.
