Cane Creek just added a new chainring option for their titanium eeWings Cranks. Well, technically it’s a new spider option that will allow you to run a new chainring option – either 1x or 2x Shimano GRX to be precise.
There are a lot of different chainring options out there, but few can match the factory shifting performance of a genuine Shimano ring. So while you may want to run the supremely durable and beautiful Cane Creek eeWings titanium cranks, being able to run Shimano chainrings could complete the build. The new Cane Creek GRX Chainring Spider makes that possible.
CNC machined from 7075 aluminum, the spider has a bolt pattern that allows the same spider to be used for 1x or 2x chainring setups. Specifically, that’s the 110 x 4 bolt and 80mm x 4 bolt GRX standard with a 2.5mm offset to create a 47mm chainline with the eeWings crank. Cane Creek points out that this is not compatible with Shimano road-specific chainrings that use a different bolt pattern.
Technical details:
- Color: Black
- Weight: 80g
- Material: CNC machined, high grade 7075 aluminum
- BCD: 110mm x 4 bolts and 80mm x 4 bolts
- Offset: 2.5mm (produces 47mm GRX chain line when mounted to eeWings)
- Crank Interface: 3-bolt direct mount for eeWings
- Graphics: laser-etched Cane Creek logo, BCD, and chainring bolt torque specs
The spider uses the older 3-bolt SRAM direct mount pattern, so technically, you might be able to use this on some other cranks as well, but it is specifically designed for the titanium eeWings crank arm shape.
Available now in black only, you can buy the GRX spider for $69.99.
