News from Asheville today as North Carolina’s own Cane Creek announces new Invert Cargo Mounts for its, you guessed it, Invert gravel fork. This opens up new possibilities for bikepacking and long-distance riding, which is pretty cool. Any time you add versatility to a bike or a bike component, I usually fully approve.

The Invert Cargo Mounts attach directly to the fork’s upper legs and can carry up to 8 pounds of gear total (4 pounds per side). These thermoplastic mounts weigh only 44 grams each and clip onto the existing fork chassis.

They use a standard 3-bolt interface that works with most bikepacking accessories, cargo cages, and water bottle cages. The mounts maintain the fork’s clean appearance while adding practical carrying capacity for multi-day adventures.

Cane Creek thinks the timing for the launch of the Invert Cargo Mounts makes sense, as gravel riders are pushing longer distances, where suspension becomes more valuable as fatigue sets in from constant road/trail chatter.

For riders considering the setup, Cane Creek provides fitment guides on their website and support via email. The cargo mounts work exclusively with Invert forks and include all necessary mounting hardware.
The Invert Fork
For those that don’t know, the Invert Fork was designed specifically for gravel and dirt roads rather than mountain bike trails. The Invert Fork uses a, you guessed it again, inverted design without traditional dampers.

This means the fork actively absorbs high-frequency vibrations from washboard surfaces. This approach differs from other gravel suspension forks that adapt mountain bike designs, and potentially offers better performance on the specific terrain gravel riders encounter.
Cane Creek has also expanded travel options based on rider feedback. Both the Invert CS and SL models now come in 30mm or 40mm travel versions. The company suggests 40mm for maximum comfort on rough terrain and bikes designed for suspension.
While 30mm works well for riders wanting moderate suspension benefits on bikes not originally built for suspension forks. The main difference between CS and SL models is the climb switch functionality, which adds about 100 grams.
For riders considering the setup, Cane Creek provides fitment guides on their website and support via email. The cargo mounts work exclusively with Invert forks and include all necessary mounting hardware.
