The latest Canfield Nimble 9 steel hardtail gets new colors and updated spec, but keeps its playful spirit. The 2024 version comes in Bug Zapper Blue, Purple Haze, and Galaxy Black, sold as a frame only or in two complete bike builds.
This 5th generation is still built with full external cable routing and carries over the same geometry as before. The news here is the new colors, and that they’re open for pre-order now. This model is made in small batches, so it’s not always in stock.
The frame is 4130 chromoly steel with radial-bent seatstays to add more compliance. The sliding rear dropouts let you adjust the chainstay length as short as 16.33″ (415mm) out to 16.93″. It’s designed around 29″ wheels and fits 29-Plus and 27.5″ Plus wheels, the latter maxing out with 2.8″ tires.
The supported seat tube keeps the standover super low and has a port for running stealth dropper remote cables.
A 66º head angle is designed around 140-160mm forks, and 150mm forks spec’d. Frame is $999, frame and fork is $2,099 with Rockshox Lyrik, and complete bikes start at $4,499. Pre-order discounts available on all three options.
